Pine kernels are very versatile, and suitable for both savory and sweet dishes. They are for example, a classic ingredient in pesto, but you can also use them perfectly for cookies or pastries. Pine kernels are rich in unsaturated fats, especially oleïne, which is also the most important unsaturated fatty acid in olive oil. Unsaturated fat contributes to the lowering of LDL-cholesterol.
