A handful of hazelnuts is a nice, fast way to ease your appetite, but you can also use them in all kinds of different ways. Try to make hazelnut cookies for instance, or use it as a crispy addition for a salad. Just like other nuts, hazelnuts are rich of unsaturated fatty acids. These good fats contribute to the lowering of cholesterol and a healthy heart. Besides this, raw hazelnuts contain much folate, what is converted in the human body as vitamine B11. Folate is the natural equivalent of the synthetic form of vitamine B11, folic acid. This is important for everyone, but especially of interest for women that are pregnant or becoming pregnant.
